Kathy Knauer was given The Distinguished Alumni Award for Teaching and Dissemination for her efforts as the head of The Allegheny Front for more than 25 years.
Award-winning stories featured activists fighting fracking in Ohio, petrochemicals in Scotland, and the dangers of wood smoke. The Wild Pa series won big, too.
The Allegheny Front scored big at the recent Golden Quill Awards. In all, our producers took home six awards from the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania.
